Claire's Birth Timeline

3/13/2008

2:30 AM	Emily's water breaks Pack the car and head to the Hospital Get stopped at Midtown Tunnel - Only 5 minute delay
3:15 AM	Arrival at Maryview Birth Center Emily's admitted and placed on IV fluids Contractions become more steady and intense
7:00 AM	David and Eva Goodrich arrive (Emily's Parents)
8:30 AM	Epidural catheter inserted Contractions increasing in intensity
12:30 PM	Very Strong Contractions Begin light pushing
2:30 PM	Contractions become very steady and intense Heavy pushing
3:20 PM	Head begins to crown Dr. Demkowski sprints into hospital to assist in delivery
3:38 PM	Baby Girl MacCartney enters the world Mike cuts umbilical cord Weight: 7 pounds, 3 ounces
4:00 PM	Baby Girl MacCartney moved to nursery for initial checks Emily takes a shower (Best of her life)
4:30 PM	Emily is transferred to recovery room
5:30 PM	Mike has a conversation with "On-Call" pediatrican Pediatrician thinks he heard a heart murmur and orders x-ray
6:00 PM	X-Ray results come back and everything looks good
6:00- 9:00 PM	Visits by Family and Friends
10:30 PM	Lights Out - Not much sleeping

3/14/2008

9:00 AM	Emily's Parents Arrive
10:00 AM	Mike departs for home to shower and shave
11:30 AM	Emily calls Mike to say that the heart murmur is still present "On-Call" pediatrician thinks baby needs more tests Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughter (CHKD) sends ambulance for transport
2:00 PM	Emily and Mike name the baby Claire Elizabeth MacCartney Claire is transported to CHKD Emily is discharged
3:30 PM	Emily and Mike depart Maryview Medical Center
4:00 PM	Emily and Mike arrive at CHKD Greeted by attending physician and briefed Neonatal cardiologists could not hear a murmur Echocardiogram ordered
4:30 PM	Echocardiogram conducted Analysis of Echocardiogram reveals no murmur or problems with the heart
5:00 PM	Lactation consultant spends almost an hour with Emily
8:00 PM	Emily, Mike and Claire are moved to Family Room Claire remains on respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen monitors
11:00 PM	Lights Out - Not much sleeping

3/15/2008

8:00 AM	Emily, Mike and Claire are moved to a different area of the hospital Continued monitoring still with no alarms Mike is anxious to go home
2:00 PM	Hearing test conducted and both ears pass
3:30 PM	Claire is discharged from CHKD and the MacCartney family goes home
